Fun!

Hello fellow Canadian!

Tropical scenes are always nice, and I think you did a good job capturing the feel of being on a beach on a warm summer's day.

Don't always think you have to draw over-sized breasts to win over your audience. As artists, we have an uncanny ability to affect style and culture and it would be a shame for us not to highlight the many other things that make women beautiful in our art.

I'm a perfectly straight guy, and I can honestly say that women can be pretty without being half naked and overly endowed. Through our art, we can show people that.

Anyways, keep up the good work, Sabrina!

I totally agree.
This isn't all I draw, however.. :P
Newgrounds is where I end up posting all of my 'scantily claid' or 'busty' women drawings, because that's just where it happens to get the most attention and feedback. DeviantART is where I post just about everything else. ^^

Nice!

The minimalistic approach is well executed in this one, and I think you were successful in creating a convincing mood.

The mood could probably be greater emphasized with some minor details. For example, a slight indication of a sandy ocean floor and perhaps faint indications of a shipwreck looming in the background would instantly create a compelling story to go with your painting.

Another example of conveying a story using minimal details would be to change the plain floor into, say, a tiled bathroom floor; the painting would convey a completely different story and invite the viewer to imagine how such a strange situation came to be.

Those are just some examples of how the addition of small details can totally change the painting. As it is, the painting is great, but it misses out on an opportunity to really provoke the viewer's imagination.

Thanks for the really great comment, its certainly made me think about how I should approach future paintings. I was having some thoughts about the shipwreck idea but I felt I should just keep it simple, perhaps I could add it in some time to see how it looks.

Cool!

A very appealing character. You did a great job incorporating the different elements in to the design.

One thing that takes away from the image over all is that everything is rendered more or less the same; because the pumpkin, knife, rusty metal, skin, and hair are all shaded similarly, the character looks more like an action figure than an actual living, breathing creature.

Also, the whole image is pretty evenly lit because there are so many light sources with similar brightness. This makes the character seem less spooky/weird/creepy.

Good job on this, though. I'm impressed. =)

Great!

Nice work, man. This is my favourite piece from you.

I like the colours you've chosen to use, and the concept is cool. The cloud formations are really fun, too.

I feel that if you had spent more time rendering the clouds, you could have achieved a more authentic look. Right now they look like plastic wrap in certain areas.

Overall, nice job. Thanks for sharing, and good luck in your studies.

Kamikaye responds:

Hey thx :)

Gorgeous

This is wonderful. Very unique style.

Love the composition and colours. You've turned an ordinary, normally boring, setting into eye candy.

I love your work.
